These Divers Are Planting Meadows Under The Ocean | Fighting Against Climate Change

The importance of trees and greenery isn't important for land sides only, it is important for Ocean too. In ocean there are so many underwater species. Some of them are using underwater plants (Called As Meadows) as their food and some species are dependent on others. Just like Vegetarians and Non Vegetarians.

Because of climate change, underwater plants are disappearing. So many species are now extinct.

But some Scuba Divers have found the solution to re-plant the underwater meadows and to save the life which is available underwater.

These scuba divers are planting meadows underwater, to fight against Climate Change. It is not something innovative, although you also can find grass in rainy season around your house or in any open ground. In a general term somehow we can call it grass but it will be applicable for land only. After rainy season, it won't survive because of low amount of moisture in atmosphere. Underwater grass are called Meadows and to plant them is a very difficult task. You have to wear a scuba diving suit, you have to carry a perfact amount of oxygen there, you should know about different types of plants or sea plants. You should have a company of trained people.

What Do They Do?

These scuba divers are dropping a bag which is full of seagrass seeds and they brought it from Coast of Wales; to revive ocean habitat.

Seagrass are capable to store carbon 35 times more then tropical rain forest. These Sea Plants are capable to absorb coastal water and carbon emission from polluting ocean.

In a common explanation, we can assume that it is just like a Nursery. It is a home for almost 20% of species.

According to reports, United Kingdom has lost 90% of seagrass in the last century. Every year we are losing 7% of seagrass since 1990.

You won't believe that in every 2 Hours, we are losing sea plants as giant as 2 football grounds.

WWF, Project Sea Grass and Swansea University are different organisations which are working on Seaplant Rescue Operation.

Sea Plants are providing livelihood for around 160K Fish and 200M invertebrates.
