Lebanon | Beirut | People are sheltering Homeless People in Their Fields and Houses | #OurHomesAreOpen Trends on Twitter

On 4th of August, a massive explosion rocked the Beirut which is capital of Lebanon.  

After this incident, many have lost their homes, many have lost their jobs and businesses.

In Beirut, people are opening their homes for survivors and for people who lost their houses. Also, Volunteers gathered to re-establish areas and to collect debris. Aftermath, Administration and Volunteers are working for maintenance and repairing works. They are cleaning streets, which is full of broken wall, broken bricks, broken glasses & debris and vehicles.  

From different sources, Beirut survivors received donations. Donations includes furniture, First Aid Kit, Kitchen equipment, livelihood items, etc. People in Beirut are urging people to use their homes to stay and to use for their families. Through social media, newspapers and among other platforms, people are using #OurHomesAreOpen tag.

People are giving or donating their homes and other facilities like apartments and flats.

They have been started other facilities like free beds and hotel rooms for those who are homeless after explosion.  

THE EXPLOSION

The explosion was happened due to 2750 Tons of Ammonium Nitrate, was being stored imperfectly. The blast was fully non-nuclear.

250,000 people lost their houses. Aftermath, Beirut citizens showed their kindness, faithfulness and solidarity towards the affected people. 

They were offering services like free medical and surgical services, cosmetic surgery for those who were wounded. Also, people who are in trauma are getting free treatments. 

On 10th August; PM of Lebanon, Hassan Diab stepped down and said that 'the corruption is bigger than the country'. 

Now, the work for establishing new government and rebuilding of the state is being carried out.
