The operations are called as Anti-terrorists Operations and Co-ordinance Search Operations. Under which Indian Army seizes the weapons and other fire arms; after elimination of Terrorists.

After seizing the weapons which were used by Terrorists and other similar groups, first procedure is to know the source and to know about the types of seized weapons.

Most commonly, these weapons are used by Terrorists groups and they receives these types of weapons from begging and donation works.

Procedures for Seized Weapons

Whenever our security forces seizes the weapons, the first important work is to know about how many fire arms, explosives, IEDs, Ammunitions and other equipment were found. First they separates the equipment and explosives.

After all, all type of weapons will be stored at Central Ordnance Depot.

Procedure 1 (With Explosives)

This Procedure ensures the details of explosives, after that Indian Army demolishes these explosives with Controlled Explosion Tactics. These explosives are not being preserved.

Procedure 2 (Fire Arms)

Fire Arms contains Assault Rifles, Sniper Rifles, Pistols, Machine Guns, etc. Security forces first of all differentiates between the two types of pattern for Fire Arms.

1) Service Pattern or Standard Weapons
2) Non - Service Pattern or Non - Standard Weapons

1) Service Pattern or Standard Weapons

--> The weapons which are currently being used in our security forces like Armed Forces, CAPF, Para Military Personnel and other forces are considered as a Service Pattern.

• For Example - If Insas Rifle is found during a search operation then this rifle will be considered as a Service Pattern because our Armed Forces uses this rifle and it is well operational.

1) Weapons in a list of Service Pattern will be examined by security forces and they will check the quality and standards of that weapon.

2)After Examination, Security Personnel will check the enrollment and region of the Seized Weapons. They will verify the standards like Aiming Site, Ammunition and Calibration of Weapons.

3) If these weapons are well and use Oriented then in some of cases these weapons will be given to the security forces.

2) Non - Service Pattern or Non - Standard Weapons

The weapons which are not a part of our security forces will be considered as a Non - Service Pattern.

Also in Non - Service Pattern, After Examination, Security Personnel will check the quality with standards like Aiming Site, Ammunition and Calibration of Weapons.

If these weapons match the standards of weapons, which are currently being used by our security forces, in some of cases, these weapons will get a standard entry with enrollment number and in future our security forces will be able to use it after some modifications.

(P.S. - In Some Cases | Most commonly the R&D work is being considered)

Non Standard Weapons or Non Service Pattern type weapons will be carefully examined by the security forces.

These weapons are tested precisely and if Ammunition of these weapons are available in our country at a low rate price, then after matching the standards this weapons will be delivered to the DRDO (Defense Research and Development Organization) for R&D Work.

Procedure 3 Disposing of Seized Weapons

Most commonly the weapons which are being used by Terrorists groups are not that much better in terms of quality, ammunition and aiming Tactics.

Security Forces disposes these Fire Arms.
