CAN AIR POLLUTION REDUCE THE LIFE EXPECTANCY? | INDIA'S STEPS TOWARDS THE AIR POLLUTION | THE UN REPORT

The Air Pollution | Recently, The UN Report for Environmental Research says that in future human beings will have to face more difficulties, if we failed to reduce Air Pollution Rate. According to The UN, India and China are the most affected countries with the highest rate of Air Pollution.

--> According to Researchers, Air Pollution may cut life expectancy globally by 2 Years. They said that it could me more dangerous than Covid-19. 

--> In future, Air Pollution may bring worsen condition for Developing Countries like India, Bangladesh, Brazil, Argentina, etc. 

--> In India and Bangladesh, Air Pollution is reducing the lifespan by almost 10 Years

IMPACT OF AIR POLLUTION ON HUMAN

Which kind of Impact or difficulty may human will face? There are lots of Medical Reports on it. Air pollution is considered as the major environmental risk factor in the incidence and progression of some diseases such as :

1) Asthma
2) Lung Cancer
3) Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Diseases
4) Autism 
5) Fetal growth
6) Low Birth Weight
7) Retinopathy

Nowadays, Humans are breathing Particulate Matter. Particulate Matter is liquid or solid dust, soot and smoke particles present in Air. Mostly, these particles come from Burnt Fossil fuels; and than it enters into the human lungs. These particles may bring disease like Lung Disease, breathing difficulties, inflammation and irritation

Smaller particles may also enter in Body and could bring more damage. Once they entered in Bloodstream, they inflame and constrict blood vessels. There will be clotting condition in Bloodstream and High Blood Pressure problems also.

These Particulate Matters can reach to the Brain and it will reduce the lifespan of it; the brain will age more quickly too

During Covid-19 Pandemic and after imposing Lockdown, Air quality in many areas improved.  Due to this drastic results, many countries have changed their Policy for Environment

WHAT INDIA IS DOING TO IMPROVE AIR QUALITY?

Recently, the Indian government took some steps in this direction committing to a 50% reduction in households using solid fuel for cooking and, last December, removing subsidies for polluting cooking gas to improve access to clean fuel for household cooking.

City Actions on Air Pollution

These actions include strengthening air monitoring networks, adopting electric vehicles to reduce pollution from the transportation sector, bolstering regulatory compliance, and better controlling industrial emissions.

What We As A Citizen Can Do To Improve Air Quality ?

--> We should reduce the use of fossil fuels.

--> More use of public transports.

--> Use Cycle for nearer places. 

--> Buy vehicles with better fuel efficiency.

--> Use energy efficient home appliances.

--> Do follow Basic/common Instructions like, switch off lights and fans or any appliances while they are not in use. 

--> Use Biofuels and similar resources.
